Practical advice for traveling

Cash, travelers, credit card (in $ us) (Broken Dollars are not accepted in the Banks, In the Exchange Houses they accept them, but the exchange rate is lower than the Official one.
Luggage

Good physical condition recommended due to height and climatic variations.
The trip can be put to the test in the Lipez region up to - 30º in the evenings in July and August !. Have an ability to adapt to the unexpected or discomfort of poor road conditions. Recommended vaccines
DTPolio, Typhoid, Hepatitis A and B. For the Amazon, yellow fever. Little risk of malaria except in the circuits of the Amazon (from Trinidad).
Personal first-aid kit
Your usual medicines; vitamin C or poly vitamin; pain medications: aspirin or its equivalent; anti-diarrheic (Imodium type ...) + intestinal antiseptic; Long-range antibiotic treatment: provide 8 days of treatment (with medical prescription); anti-inflammatory ointment; eye drops (powder, ophthalmia); pills to purify the water; Scotch tape; plasters + disinfectant compresses; protection against blisters, available in pharmacy); treatment against cold and sore throat, ointment against burns.
